An Atlantic City New Jersey resident gave birth to a 5lb baby boy in one of the city's casinos, while she was playing the penny slots.
The eight month pregnant mom to be age 32 from Atlantic City, started feeling pains that she thought to be gas pains at first, then after going to the restroom she told one of the casino security guards she thought she was going into labor. The security guard thought the woman was kidding until her water broke on the casino floor around 9:30 in the morning.
A guard came over and said, "Don't push" but she replied "forget you, this baby is coming right now." said one witness.
In less then five minutes the woman gave birth to Qualeem, a 5 pound baby boy.
The woman was helped bring her child into the world by 4 of the casino security guards. One of the guards used his jacket to wrap up the baby until paramedics arrived at approximately 9:40 in the morning according to the casino vice president.
The baby and mom were taken to a nearby hospital to make sure that both were fine. The woman later told the press that she and the baby were doing fine despite being a month premature.
The company Vice President, who has been with the casino since its opening in 1978 said "many people have died in the casino but this is the first birth that I am aware of."
