The Singapore police raided the Senegal Consulate after evidence was found that the Consulate was being used as a casino in the evenings.
During the day the Consulate may have been filled with people looking for visas and conducting official business, but according to some investigative reporting from an Asian paper police found that the Senegal Consulate was being used as an illegal casino hosting over 100 players and 3 baccarat tables.
Police from the Gambling Suppression Department raided the Consulates top floor after receiving a tip from the news paper.
Approximately 1 million dollars in chips were changing hands on a nightly basis and the smallest bet allowed in the casino was 100 Singapore Dollars. And the Highest allowed bet was 30,000, according to reports.
The police also found a VIP room. To gain entrance to this area you had to have at least 100,000 dollars in chips.
The casino so far seems to have been run by a Chinese Singaporean In his 50's who was found to be keeping watch outside the consulate.
Because the Consular for Singapore is only an honorary position they are not granted immunity from the local authorities, which allowed the local authorities to act on the tip they were given.
